one lovely blog award

I’d like to thank Arran Bhansal for nominating me for the ‘One Lovely Blog Award. Please check out his blog. Arran has a lovely way of writing that is a joy to read. His blog was one of the first I decided to follow when I began blogging and I’ve learned a lot from it.

The link to Arran’s blog is below:

Alright, 7 facts.

I’m a registered nurse working in ICU. My nursing career started at the same time I started writing. I wrote my first full short story since I was 13 two months before I started nursing which was January 2013.

I’m a runner, albeit not as dedicated as I should be. I’ve run two half marathons and a few smaller races. I’m planning a 50km race for next May.

I am terrified of spiders. They make my skin crawl and send me running for the hills. I’ve become better though seeing as I’ve had to tackle monsters the size of my hand, still though they really make me revert to a four year old distraught child.

My favorite country is Thailand and favorite food would be a neck and neck finish with Thai and Japanese. Thailand is such a beautiful country and the people are really friendly and accommodating. My goal is to get to Japan one day and pig out on as much sushi as I can handle (o;

I have a black belt in Karate and a purple sash in Kung Fu (one below black) but luckily I’ve never had to see how effective it is defending myself. At five foot six inches you can fly under the radar a good bit, avoid trouble pretty much everywhere you go.

Oh another fear is flying, which is really inconvenient as I have to travel between Australia and Ireland if I want to see my family. Every noise, creak and jostle tells me we’re heading towards the ground any second. If not for xanax then I’d have to take a very expensive boat or drive… teleportation will be great when it’s invented.

I watch the bachelor… yep the Bachelor and now we have an Aussie version. My wife started watching it years ago and I got hooked… I even have a favorite episode each season, it’s The Women Tell All. I thought I’d be more ashamed to admit this than I am (o:

Alright that’s me, now my nominations.

Each of these blogs I have followed and become inspired by what is published on them. I would ask that you follow the link to each one and check them out, it is well very worth it (o:

  1. Thanks for the nod! Wow…ICU nurse, that’s awesome. But what a challenging job that must be. Love nurses, honestly – prefer one to a doctor any day! 🙂

  2. Interesting facts! And thanks again for the nomination!
    When I worked in the hospital, I spent a large amount of my workday in the ICU and headed up a research project on early mobility in the ICU. (Remember, I’m a physical therapist). I loved the ICU nurses and patients. It was my very favorite place to be in the hospital. Go, you!
